..+*Weekend Reflection*+..

 -Weekend Reflection-Week 4-

Something I found Challenging this week probably our All Saints Presentation, Since it is November and we had All Saints day on the first of November. For this Task we Had to make a copy of a slide prepared for us with some questions and then we had to decorate it and fill in the questions about our chosen saint, the Reason I struggled with this would be because  I couldn't find any Saints! there were just too many.

We learned a lot this week, we had gone over some of our math, with median, mode and mean.
We also learned how to stitch! that was really fun.

Something I enjoyed was Probably the sewing we did! we are making a collage, first we got to choose a colour fabric and cut out a hand print, then we got to choose a square fabric between the colours of either green, or blue. Then the our teachers helped us put the thread  in the needle and sew the hand onto the square, THEN we also had to draw a picture to cut out in fabric that represents us. The stitching was probably the hardest to do, because the threads would pull out and get tangled. For my Picture I had drawn a budgie, (because I like budgies,) We often poked our fingers by accident with the needle. It was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot so far.

Something I feel I have succeeded in is probably When me and my Friend Tiana made scones at tech! it was really fun  I think it was a success. The scones were really easy to make and easy to travel back to school with.

Something I am looking forward to is.. Whatever next week has to bring! its going to be very sad because one of our teachers is leaving.

-Aroha-
this weeks value is Aroha, Meaning love.. we try to be kind and caring towards our friends and family and to those around us.

..+*Rap//Song*+..

 -Song-

We had a task where we had to get into groups, and write a song!
the lyrics would be based off of Aroha, after we made the lyrics we would have to go onto a site where we can make a beat with out song. the people in our group were
and me.
__---__
The lyrics were quiet hard to do, and we had to try and decide on what to say so it can tie into with the theme (Aroha). it was really hard to try and not make it cheesy or cringe, but we decided we would write about our love for each of our pets, Therese's Part would be about cats (because she loves cats.) then Mine would be about budgies, (because  love budgies.) Blake had done his about house animals (like cats & dogs.) Indie worked onto the beat, and kades was going to be the ending about all animals!
Blake made the beat in the end and I had written everyone verses except Blake's (he wrote his is own verse.)
and Therese sung the entire song!
----

Beady eyes like the colour of amber feline fine Oh-but you better watch that cat's temper, WakiƄ round like she owns the place, So cute with that cat face.

A - is for the  attention to your cats…..

..+*Weekend Reflection*+..

 -Week 2: Term 4-

Something I found Challenging this week is Probably the feelings wheel, the feelings wheel is where we had to draw what we think looks like a certain emotion in these triangles that all turn into a circle. I struggled with this because I had re-done a lot of my pictures because I wasn't happy with how it looked, I also didn´t   have the write colours to do the pictures, I may of found it easier to do if I  tried and do it with some paint, though painting is hard, you can have unlimited access to what ever colour, I could try it digital on the chrome book but then its harder to add small details. Another thing I struggled with was rap//song we had to write in a group, our group struggled because the lyrics couldn't help but be embarrassing and I couldn't bare the thought of recording myself singing

We  Learned lots of things, we learned more about  Paratene te Manu, a famous Maori Warrior who´s family and himself got Evicted from their home island Huataru, Now known as little Barrier island. Our other teacher has read us a book about Paratene te Manu  and we have written a letter, pretending we were Paratene te Manu´s Nephew writing to the Government about  why Paratene te Manu shouldn't leave his island.

Something I Enjoyed was writing the letter we did (which I had explained about in the last paragraph) because We were all really Passionate about arguing  for him to stay on his Island. and it really fun pretending to be a lawyer. I also enjoyed Mahi tahi, for those who don´t know what mahi tahi is, its where the year 8s, 7s, 6,s and 5s join together and complete a crafty task, this task we did was were we had to get into groups (as always) and we had to tape some balloons so the all stack up but they have to be free-standing, the tallest balloon tower wins, we were doing pretty good but it the height  of it didn't count since it leaned to the side, making it shorter.

Something I feel I have succeeded in is some of my Emotions wheel, I haven´t finished it just yet though.
Another thing is probably my letter, I do want to add a bit more but i´m not sure what else to add, so for now I think it is complete.

Something I am looking forward too is.. what else we will be doing next week, Hopefully  I can get more things finished. I also am looking forwards to finishing my drawing in tech, I really hope I can finish it and hopefully I can succeed in that as well, we have been using a burn tool to draw in stuff on a small piece of wood, and now we are ingraining another drawing we did in some copper.

-Aroha-
This weeks Value is Aroha, A way I have seen Aroha shown is in the playground where some people were helping these little children across the monkey bar. that is showing Aroha because they were helping and caring for others by making them feel safe so they can develop the skill of doing the monkey bars.

..+*What is Media*+..

 -Media-

for cyber smart we did a task where we discussed what media is, we made a copy of a slide and filled out the questions leading us to get a better understanding of what media is.

then we had made a DLO Relating and explaining the difference between the following media.

-Print media: News Paper, Magazines etc.

-Broadcasting media: TV, live shows etc.

-Online media//Social Media: apps, digital devices, etc.

I think media is like a group or a system, informing others about a certain subject, like when you sign up to order a magazine daily, that´s a type of media.

this was quiet quick to do because I had already written down my definition of each of the things, so instead of re-writing them, I decided I would just copy and paste my original definition from my slide onto the DLO.

||=Weekend Reflection=||

 -Week 1: Term 4-

it is our last term! we have been very busy this week since of athletics coming up and have been doing that nearly every day, (athletics Is a school event where there are different thing to partake in, -Sprints, High jump, Long Jump, Shot putt, discus.) and we have the rosary since it is October (the month of Mary.) every morning we go outside or into one of the spare class room which is empty and do whole school rosary there. one thing that is really cool this term is that we have another teacher joining in with us in class!

One thing I found Challenging is probably athletics, I´m not very good at anything in sports really.. I really don´t like high jump and I am bad at it without the excuse of being short. I can´t sprint either.. and I don´t really understand the  shot putt, long jump is okay, but I´m not good at that either. Another thing I have found challenging is finishing my work on time, I take really long and I try to fit in art into as much of it as I can.

One thing that I learned was  in maths, we  are currently learning words relating that are often used in maths. We also are reading about a Maori Warrior and some of things he´s been through and who he is.
this last term we are really focusing on all of the learning we´ve done before and making sure we are all on the right track and we have been clearing things up so everyone can hopefully be on the same level before we leave.

One thing I have enjoyed Is.. R.E doing the rosary is really peaceful and quiet, and enjoyable when you understand what you´re saying and what it means. I sometimes enjoy doing Athletics?.. I know I´m not good at it but there has been times where I have surprised my self with thinking that I wouldn't make it over the high jump bar but then did, when you successfully jump over the bar its really quite satisfying, and especially today where I thought I had made it quite far, and I didn´t think I was going to make the jumps but I did, once it got too high and everyone started to sit down, then I did. But I gave it ago and tried, hopefully I can try harder and maybe even do better.

One thing I feel I have Succeeded in probably some of the times I had done Athletics, like just before I had talked how It was challenging and I didn´t like it and then I talked about how sometimes I actually had fun doing and the only time I had fun doing it was when I felt like had done well with it, therefore I felt like I had succeeded in it couple of times.

Some things I am looking Forward too are more arty stuff we could possible be doing later this term, I hope that we year 8 can step up and get a start on stuff we like to do, for me that would be art, I am hoping there can be more drawing and art involved so I can be more productive and hopefully have fun and do well in it. I hope I can post more blog posts about my learning (and hopefully art).

_.-Aroha-._
this weeks Value is Aroha, meaning love. love can be in friendship and other positive interactions with others, Love can be shown in what you say, what you do, and what you think and how you treat others, love is enjoying being around someone or something, or admiring another thing or person. Love can be caring for others and can be shown through support and positive words.

..||Tree top Trouble||..

A new Term, time to reflect on a moment in your holidays!

(I have chosen to write about when I had gone to adventure forest with my friend)

We arrived at a forest on the side of the road, the trees were tall and thin, and the grass was covered in ferns and twigs. There were ropes and wooden bridges all hanging across the trees, two people greeted us and  one of them helped put on these harnesses that hung by your hips, there were hooks that the people soon explained how to work them, the main hook was a big metal one that had a little slit which was used to attach the hook to the wire, you couldn't take the hook of the wire since the wire was thick and the slit in the hook was thinner thats why when you attached it you had to slide the hook across a thin metal slab then it would lead onto the wire, where you would but your backup hook behind the Main one, they showed us and let us have a try on the ground with the very low wire, then once we had completed the practice we all went on to the different activities up high in the tree. Me and my friend went to the first one (we had to do the activities in order.) we climbed up the ladder and slid our hooks onto the wire and did the first obstacle, the obstacles were like tight ropes or wooden plank and tunnels and much more different ones, I was shaking lots, once you've finished a obstacle which would lead you to the next tree and then you would slide your hook to the wire connected to the next obstacle, the first one was quiet freaky but fun at the same time. I would not stop shaking and I could feel the cold sweat all over me, but really, if you fell the harness would just catch you, but the height of the obstacles were quite freaky.

After me and my friend finished the first activities filled with obstacles we went on the next one, it felt so nice to touch the ground again. So far, things were going good, we finished the next activity and are now going on to the third one.. The third one was when it got hard, it had a sign on the tree before the ladder saying that this is a difficult one. That was a bit of a worry since i'm not very strong so this would be very challenging. We climbed up and completed the couple of obstacles and then it came to a tightrope one with little wooden trunks to walk on.. But the ´´tightrope´´ wasn't so tight, I held onto the top wire and walked across, it shook like crazy.. Balancing was very hard and the rope with the wood trunks on it that I was standing on  swung side to side leaving me to fall of and struggle to catch onto the wire again, that was the first time I fell off the obstacle, soon it was finished and we moved on to a couple of next obstacles but then we were met with what I thought was the hardest one for me… there was a trail of ropes with some logs on the end of the ropes to stand on, just like a swing so I stepped on the swing and as I held on to the ropes on the side and then attempt to step to the other swing, but since all the swings were not attached they parted and I ended up doing the splits, I had to use muscle and pull my legs and arms together to get back in place, I tried so hard throughout this particular obstacle but I kept on doing the splits and my ´´ážŸucsles´´ hurt from trying to get back up, on top of that I was shaking but it was quite funny at the same time, it was really hard to get past that obstacle, Finally I was at the last swing, it was swinging back and forth as I held onto the wire at the top instead of the ropes on the side since that was too hard to switch to the other ropes, finally I was at the end, my arms hurt a lot, once we zip lined down, I checked my arm to find rope burn from my arm rubbing against the rope as because of how I held onto it.

these activities were really cool, you'd climb up the top and slide your hook across to the wire attached to the next obstacle, then once you´ve completed that obstacle you would stand on a small wooden platform on a tree and slide your hook across to the next obstacle, and that's how it was run. It was a really fun day, I didn't go on the other really high and hard ones, but I ran and watched my friend do two more harder ones.

It was really cool because you can't really get hurt on the obstacles, but there are really fun and fill you with such nervousness and danger.

_.->> Venerable Suzanne Aubert<<-._

This week On Friday we are going to be Celebrating Venerable Suzanne Aubert!

(Aubert Pronounced-Aw-Bear)
One of our House Groups is named after her and this Friday we will be Celebrating her and all the amazing things shes done!
for this Task we had to make a slide or google drawing, and then we had to write down the facts we have learnt about her, I had done some facts and a little blurb of writing giving a small description about her.
here is the my work

..+*Social Justice*+..

_.-Presentation-._

Last week was social justice week, we all had to make a copy of a slide template with some tasks for us to do, we explored to understand more of what social justice is and what it means.
I enjoyed doing this task but it is sad because ,Social justice is something that hasn't been shown in some parts of the world at some times, which is really sad but we are really grateful  that here there it isn't as bad.
here is my filled slide,

..||Poetry||..

 -Literacy-

For literacy this week, we have worked on Poetry and finding out the technical side of Poetry.
For the task we had to Make a copy of a slide that had some questions in it that we had to answer them, but first we had to watch some of the suggested videos that were like speeches yet very poetic then we got to choose them and fill out the slide question based off  of  the chosen video

I choose Nga Hinepukorero which is a Poem by 4 girls (one of the girls  present in the video.) I chose this one because it was really powerful and I think that the topic that they were talking about was also really important as well. this was a very cool activity that definitely open up your eyes about some of the things that had happened in New Zealand and how it has effected us.
for the slide I tried to make it a golden theme by using golden-hour scenery and other yellow backgrounds, I struggled a little bit trying to summarise some of the questions but managed to get them done.

..+*Week End Reflection*+..

<-._Week 7_.->

this week I was on disciples!  if you don´t know what disciples are they are a thing the senior class do in morning tea  and lunch time (so all break times) each week a group of people (specify in this week it was me, Tiana, Calista, and Will.)  and then we 2 of us put on the high-vise vest and walk around in morning tea, or Lunch time. What you do is basically what some of the teaches to at lunch when they are on duty which is you walk around the place keeping an eye out for anyone who need help, (mainly little kids.)

Something I found challenging was possibly the travel planning we did, we got got to do this really fun activity where we pretend to book a flight to some other country with the 12,000 in our wallet. we can bring 2 other people, me and my Friend Therese decided to go to Westminster in the UK! we got to find activities to do, a good hotel to stay and some places to eat our food! it was really fun but finding certain stuff and trying to work out the money was the hardest, it takes quiet a long time for us to do that, it was also quiet difficult to plan and Itinerary for our activities. Another thing I found Challenging was our daffodil day art (that was really kind of last week.) It was really fun to draw the daffodil and colour it with pastel. but I was happy with how it turned out its just I haven finished it yet.

Something I learned was Lots!we learned lots this week and some of those things were about Rests, Deacons, and Bishops. we learnt the difference between them and what it takes to become one. I also learn lots more about Westminster since for the travel I had to research about it lot, I learned about the Westminster abbey and what it was like back in the old days and in the 15th century.

Some things I have enjoyed were doing the travel activity, it was really fun to do with my friend! its so fun to plan a holiday like a true adult! I also really liked making the brochure for the place we are heading to, It was fun adding all my ideas into the travel brochure and I really enjoyed trying to make it look nice.

Something I feel I have Succeeded in is Possibly the Travel Brochure.. I am quiet proud of the vintage look with all the brown tones and little map and photos on it! I am also happy with the amount of information of it as well!  here is a picture of it,

Something I am looking forward too is seeing my sister! I can wait for her to come over for the weekend!
this week has been really busy (even though really the only thing we had to finish is our travel slide.)

..<> Piktochart<>..

 _.-> Priests, Deacons, and Bishops<-._

Last week we had to make an info graphic using anew program called ''Piktochart''
-PiktoChart
is a Program where you make all sorts of designs and cool Presentations, you can make Posters and Info graphic. Piktochart had all the Graphics and designs all ready for you to use and decorate, they've got cool stickers to put on and text boxes.
-Info Graphics
Info stands for information, and Graphics is like Designs, making things look appealing and nice. info graphics are like posters with more pictures while informing the person about what the topic is.
-what was our task?-
we had to make an info graphic about Priests, deacons and Bishops, including facts and what there role is.
here is mine
This task was really fun to do, it was quiet hard though, I found it challenging to find a good colour palette and design and it was hard to find lots of information but instead I only found some.  I did the colours based around blue and orange and I had  each of the different information squares with some little stickers piktochart provided.

..◤ 5 senses Poem◢..

This is Our 5 senses Poem,

We had to write about a special place and describe what you Hear, see, feel and taste. then we had to cut out the ''I ,  at, am,'' and other words similar to those. I used Google draw and drew with polyline to match the show what I saw

This was really fun to do, I did the poem about my house, because We have just moved into our new house but I still miss my old house so I had done this and drawn the view.

..|| Cyber smart fun activity! ||..

 -instructions and communication-

Today we did a really fun activity where we Got into buddies (me and Indi) and we each had two slides, a player A slide and a player B slide, we made a copy of one of those slides. I made a copy of slide A and Indi made a copy of slide B. in those slides where set up activity's to complete.
these activities where instructions where one slide had a grid with images in it and the other player's slide had just a plain grid with the same images on the side, we had to give instructions to the other player where to put those images so they matched ours.
there were other challenges like this in the slide that we had to complete
Here is mine

This activity was hard yet really fun and we had lots of laughs, one thing we had trouble with was our left and rights.. we knew them but we were sitting in opposite sides so it was confusing.
it was fun and soon we got it
here are the slides of the stuff I made for her to follow- 6, 8, 10
and the other ones where the instructions she gave me to do- 7, 9, 11

..+*Pebble Point of View*+..

 <:>Personification<:>

Just like yesterday, we had posted a piece of writing based on the perspective of objects or things in nature, Yesterday we did the perspective of a table and focusing o giving it a personality by Personification, and today we are writing the perspective of  a small pebble in world war |
↓↡↓
In the pitch black night fading into blue, the sun has yet to risen..
The moonlight glistens on the ocean water, the soft sound of crashing  white wash is all I hear,
the blanket of shallow glittery water splashes upon me, soon the tide runs further down and I dry up.
The light fades in into the sky as I see I tiny glimpses of sun rise, the cool air breeze slowly flows. A black silhouette of a ship emerges as the colour of things start to show up and the birds start to fly, leaving this land.

A long time it took for these people to jump of the ship and into the water, peace is soon disturbed. They slash closer into shallow water and soon I hear the crunch crunch crunch of pebbles getting twisted and crunched underneath their  bulky shoes, Slap! The shoes walk right over me and it feels like I'd been punched in the stomach, I watch as they walk over all of us and up the hill where the morning light touched.

As soon as they walk up I hear a BANG! They all are falling down and tumbling around as they shot fire to others, I gaze as I see one run out to sea to retreat, then fall into the water, he never gets back up, I feel still and powerless as so much problematic mess is around me. Falling soldiers, smoke and more, The big blue sky  looks over the land and the sun starts to fall down, the remaining solders continue to walk over the hill, the blue sky turns to purple and reflects on to the water. I lay here trying to relax once more from the tension and distress from the battle and all the pollution left behind.

The sky turns, as the night starts to rise again, the moon rising and shining upon the ocean once again. I sit still and try to sleep, the crickets keep me up, my thoughts are still pounding and racing,  I focus on the stars above and the far noises of thunder-like shots in the distance and slowly drift away, the cold water washes upon me.
I snuggle in with the other pebbles. Sad that I couldn't help the humans, but glad i'm not one of them.
I am a pebble.

..|:|Personification writing|:|..

Today in literacy, we learned about ''Personification"

Personification is something used in writing to describe a thing, nature, object, animal anything. but you describe it with human actions or features, like for example..
"the tree had long arms."
tree's don't have arms, it's describing about the tree's branches that appear like arm to us humans, so therefore we have used personification by describing this tree with human like features. Another example can be
"The grass tickled my feet."
Grass can't tickle, but humans can, it is describing how the grass feels like its tickling you.

With out task, we had to write a Piece, Expressing the perspective through our table we sit on, and describe it as if it is a person, me and my friends table is a small, short, chair-less table in the corner.. it is a bright Peridot green with a matte texture on the surface.
here is my Writing.
   ..-.-.-.-.  ↡ .-.-.-.-..
I awaited patiently.. keeping my thoughts to my self, listing to the conversations of others.. I looked out the door, to hear the muffled voices of children, and then the click clack of keys, they rumbled around getting a seat.. as I looked at those in front of me, they sat down, but I realised I haven't been cleaned! the gross gray glue made me stick to the books they have left of me, the tingly presses of pencil and paper make me want to sneeze, they tap their nails on top of me and accidentally scratch me, then they move onto the keys, ''click clack clee." I fall asleep to the chattering of them and then awake to something rumbling, I feel the weight plunge off of me as they all get up and leave,

Peaceful silence floats in the air, as I await once more.. then I hear trouble.. some children barge in and dance around me. they hear up their food, that now stinks the air and then just leave without a care,

I silently observe getting filled with information, I don't speak or even make a peep. I just sit there, Unappreciated and bored. they walk back in and lean in on me and I can feel their heartbeat. I feel their fear, worry and annoyance, their joy and pride, they don't know it, because I hide.

the day ends as they say goodbye, I live my life through them, but as the soon as they leave, reality strikes back at me, at the end of the day I am just me, a second choice table quiet as can be.
 ..-.-.-.-.  ↡ .-.-.-.-..
this task was really fun and I really enjoy doing creative, and descriptive writing and it was really to add a personality to the table we use everyday.

..|| Weekend reflection ||..

..+* Term 3 Week 3 *+..

this week was the week of cross country!

One thing I found Challenging was cross country, It was quiet hard to run and I was very out of breath, but I came 3rd. Another thing I found challenging was our daily timetable, it's bit hard trying to get as much of my timetable done as quick as I can but It is quiet hard.. another challenge is when I was finishing by colouring the installation in my creative writing and I was having trouble trying to find the right colour for what I was colouring.

Some thing I learned this week is about graphs, we have been doing maths in the morning and learned about lots of new cool stuff! one those was graphs, we had to answer certain questions requiring to understand the graphs. another was were we were focusing on patterns and number sequences. we have been doing a lot of maths work sheets, and some were hard and some I found quiet easy.

Some things I enjoyed was drawing my creative writing illustrations, I am a bit worried that they aren't going to turn out good, but I did enjoy drawing them and colouring some. I also enjoyed cross country, it was fun to run the track.
I also enjoyed playing silent ball because it is fun to try and catch long distance, and I enjoyed playing one of the P.E games we did because I finally scored a try!

One thing  feel I have succeeded in is probably one of the R.E task we did where we pick a word from our goal and explain the definition, put it into a sentence, find a synonym, and draw a picture to represent it.  I feel I have succeed in that because I am happy with how the picture came out and I am happy with the finished definition I have wrote for it. I also feel I have succeeded in how much I have got finished in my contract.

One thing I am looking forward too finishing my creative writing, I hope it goes well, and hopefully I can finish it next week.

..+*Week Reflection*+..

This Week felt really short, because we had Wednesday off due to a teacher only day and it that Wednesday felt like an actual full weekend, maybe because I was all hyped up on Tuesday night not having to worry about waking up early And because I felt I got a lot accomplished that day and I had the whole house to myself and I feed the budgies, did some work, drawing and some chores, so it felt like an entire weekend and then Monday and Tuesday felt like last week.

Some of the things I felt were challenging was finishing some of the work.. I took so long to finish my maths sheet because it took me awhile to add up some of the numbers we had to do and then it was kind of stressful when I was doing it and I had to also try and get it done so I could work on my other things, I also found doing the daily times tables challenging because I never competently finish the entire cube in the amount of time. another thing that was also challenging for me would be when we were making our group animation, it had to be done quiet quickly but  we were taking a lot of time because I was drawing all the characters. but I am happy with how it turned out, not that much but still glad that it had lots of effort in it and that was my first post with the new blogger update!

some things I have learned this week were about the human body, we have been learning about the human body and we were talking about the brain and some names for the bone as well, and we learned about Saint Hildegard who I have never heard before but we learned about who she was and what her life was like, I also learned a more about algebra, we learned a new strategy that was assigned to us on prodigy that is a bit confusing but still think we progressed on getting a preview on what we are going to be learning in algebra. I feel I have learned a lot this week!

Some things I have enjoyed doing this week are when me and my friends decorated our paper skeleton activity.. because it was peaceful just drawing on the bones and trying to add more shaded depth into the bones so it wouldn't look so bland, I also enjoy making the animation with my friends as well because it was so fun to work and share Ideas with my friends and I think we worked well together and the outcome was good. I also enjoyed working on drawing a place form our imagination task.

Some of the things we did that  feel I have succeeded in are my contract, I hadn't completely finished it but I feel I have progressed with finishing this week, I am also quiet happy with the outcome of the group animation, and I feel I have succeeded in the paper skeleton because the order of the bones I think are correct which is good since they bones looked a bit confusing and we kept on overthinking where they went.

I am looking forward to hopefully doing the creative writing, I really hope it goes well with the drawings since I have finished writing it now I need to draw and format it. I also hope that cross country goes well, I am very nervous to run because I worry that something might happen or I will come in a very low place, I really hope that everyone can have lots of fun at cross country and be proud of themselves. I also hope that I can finish my speech and hopefully everyone can be proud of what they've come up with.

Today for R.E we learned who Saint Hildegard was.. she was a lady in Germany in the 1098's, we learned about her and who she was and the journey of her life. then we had to get into groups of three ( me, Heavenly and Therese.) and make a animation about three stages of her life "child, nun, teacher." because in her childhood she left to go live with a lady named jutta and soon later Hildegard had become a nun and  she had a very special connection with god. then she became more of a teacher with how much things she was doing.. many people came to her for advice, and she wrote books about her visions she had countered with prayer.

Heavenly and Therese were my buddies, Heavenly did her early stages in life, (her childhood and when she met jutta.) then Therese did her teacher stages in life, and we all worked together for her nun stage because I was drawing the characters (I had drawn hildegard, jutta and the young version of hildegard so we could use those has the animation characters.) I finished of some things on the slide. I feel that it is a bit rushed.. and that the drawings I did aren't so good either.. but I think that we did a good job! and it was super fun to work with my friends! be sure to check out their posts as well-

..|| Quality blog Post ||..

..+*Sort the comments activity*+..

today for Cyber Smart we had to get into a pair, (my partner was Indi) and we made a copy of a template where they had written a bunch of comments and we had to copy and paste the thumbs up and thumbs down onto where we thought was good and bad.  we had watched a video and talked about things not to say in a blog comment and thing that you should say instead.
then after that we highlighted in colour parts of the text that made then considered bad. and what made them considered good.
---------------------------------

this was a fun, yet quick activity to do.  here are some tips to make your comment more interesting:
-read through the post and take in detail- instead of guessing what the post is gonna say, read through it and pick out things that you think they did really well, or then thing in the post that you most enjoyed reading.
-complement- it is very important to be nice in the comments and kind, you can tell them something that they did well,
another thing that you shouldn't do is use internet slang, internet slang is words like ''lol, ikr '' which are shorten words used to make texting easier and when your commenting about someones learning it would be good to have the comment kind and formal, and to be aware of your audience, is your audience young and may not understand big words, or are they a bit older and can handle more complex wording.

thank you for reading my post and I hope you enjoyed it.

..+*First week in Term 3*+..

-Week Reflection-

Our first week back in term 3!
I have  found challenging this first week back would be that I didn't finish my full contract, the main thing I wanted to do was my imaginative prayer but I ended up not starting that because I was doing my other activities first.. I didn't finish my contract I think maybe because I was being very slow, and taking a bit to much time to finish my activities, and I was also kind of struggling finding my idea for our creative writing, but in the end I managed find and idea (it was based off of a dream a had).

Some things I have learned this week is some more about algebra, we have been learning in algebra, we did a task where we had to copy and figure out patterns and add up numbers to reveal a pattern, and it was very fun. we added up numbers to finish each column and find out the pattern.

somethings I enjoyed were being back to school and finishing my science drawing, we got to draw what we thought a scientist looked like and answer questions on what a scientist are and what they do,  it was also fun to decorate and do my R.E activity because it was super fun to just sit there and write down the things we had to write and decorate and draw along the way to make it look presentable. , I also really enjoy when me and couple of others in every morning we went into a class and did this cool activity for the other class called ''creative prayer" its where we each had are own prayer station and did different ways to present prayer, and the classes each came and had a go at are activities. and at the end we put together all of our finish activities and it was so fun!  I really enjoyed being with my friends and the opportunity  to work with the classes through creativity, and working peacefully in class.

some things I feel I have succeeded in might be my science drawing? I had drawn it and it didn't look very good.. so I re drew it and coloured it and I think it looked a bit better, I was quiet happy with the clothing creases because personal I think they can be quiet hard at times but this time I think they were accurate. I also think that the imaginative prayer went well, We had done prayer chains and everyone contributed and I stapled them all together into a long chain, some of the colours were out of pattern so I used my nails and picked the stables out and re but them into pattern. those are some of the thing I thinks have succeeded this week.

Values
This weeks value was pono, meaning truth. showing Pono could be owning up to your mistakes and taking action to what you've done, because taking responsibility is showing truth, that is an example of showing pono.

something I am looking forward to next week is.. creative writing, I hope that it goes well and hopefully the drawing can come out good as well, I also hope that I can still to my imaginative prayer activity because I have an idea for that. we also have speeches coming up AND cross country, and like most of us, I am quiet nervous for those activities and not really looking forward to them because use I'm not sure how I will go.

..+*Recount holiday*+..

Friday the last day of school, I got picked up early.. It was dry and cloudy and relaxed in mid day and sunny and golden in the evening. We were all relaxed as morning tea had passed and in the middle block where I was doing some drawing mum came in. I packed up my pencil case and left. I haven’t really had a half day in ages, as we got ready to drive down to auckland with my brother who, a week ago, had come up for his Christchurch university break. It was super fun having him back at home. We haven’t seen him in ages but the second he came back it was like he was always here. Me and him played one of the old ‘’cool math games’’ fire boy and water girl where you are two players and have to go to different levels. That was really fun, but frustrating at the same time because I kept on dying in the game. We played some more two player games. It was really fun to have my brother back at home.

Once We got home and were ready to go, we took my brother to say goodbye to our nana and poppa, before he left. It was sunny and golden and I kept looking out the window admiring the gold sunlight that skitted over the hills and made everything warm, the sunlight contrasted with the blue shadows that added depth to the landscape, I went to sleep like usual.. Every Auckland trip I always go to sleep trying to either… pass the time.. Or to not throw up. I was trying to sleep but I had had enough and I got up and it was still golden hour and we opened the bag chips and ate the whole lot. Suddenly.. A really loud shot noise striked ‘’ARRGH’’ mum complained.. A stone had hit the windscreen and left a very big crater with little spider-like legs poking out the side. We stopped by and my brother took a photo. We always get chips in the windscreen when we go  his way! And no surprise a little later a stone had chipped my window as well! As we drove further it got dark, the golden light toned down and everything went purple, I focused on the reflection of the purple sky and clouds in the water, looking out the window waiting for a good song to come on.

It got dark, and we stopped at the toilets and continued to drive. I started waiting for the clock ‘’17:16’’ Waiting for just one more minute… “17:17’’! It became my new thing, waiting for the clock time numbers to be the same.. Just a little thing to look forward to when your bored is to keep an eye out for the time numbers being the same. That was pretty fun.. The blinding light bounced over the hills we turned to see a super flash car.. It had ‘’X’’ headlights and when it overtook us the whole back light was connected. The darkness outside as the sun has completely faded and I kept on seeing the faded unnatural light from the light post shining abnormally on the trees. As we continued into Auckland we went into where my sister's house is.

The house was empty, my sister and her friends were downtown getting some food. We went and got our own. We drove downtown in the dark around 9.00? The light was flashy and bright, we stopped and parked near a bunch of  food places where it had neon bright food signs. Mum and my brother went and got me a pizza and got some burger fuel for them. I waited in the dark, in the car looking at the lights blaring from the shops. I sat quiet waiting for them to come. A couple of minutes later they came, we drove to my sister's house. I couldn't eat all the pizza because I was pretty full.

A day later we went to crystal mountain..
We had said goodbye to my brother as he walked into the Que for the Christchurch flight. Definitely going to miss my brother. At Crystal mountain… I was kind of nervous to go there since none of us had been there before, I didn’t know what to expect going there, we walked past the huge pale rose coloured crystals on display, we walked into the gift shop.. So many crustal… There were big rectangular lamps with circular flat crystals resin in the lamp. We walked further in to see lamps, necklaces, and just straight up pure crystals of any type, walked down the stairs and saw so many more crystals with minerals shown and patterns flowing inside those crystals. So many types and colours, crystal stone made into things. I didn't know what to buy!. We looked at all the crystals and then went into an elevator to see the crystal museum. There were massive walls of stone like a cave and an enclosure full of different crystals bigger than any human. Massive quartz and amethyst, odd looking fluffy crystals and super colourful ones on display as well.

On the second morning we left, and soon we were home, unpacking our bag.

At home again~

..+*Cyber Smart*+..

-_Reflection_-

Some Things I enjoy about Cyber smart is The learning, it's fun when learning more about the Chromebook and cool thing to help us get round the chrome book. we have learned about controls in the chrome book, on how to get a tab back once it's lost and much more. I also really enjoy filming in cyber smart. It's super fun to group up and film a movie, when we were filming our movie.. for thing like props we used anything we could find that was similar to what we wanted as a prop. personally I like to be the camera person because I don't have to be seen int he movie but yet have a big role in the movie.  it's super fun to collaborate and share everyone creative ideas.

We have learned so much about lots of thing to do with cyber smart, something I would like to learn in the future would be.. to make more cyber smart information slide, and not just copy of slides.  I would like to make more DLO (Digital. Learning. Object.) like a google drawing or slide or even a poster, it would be cool to make a DLO about what cyber smart is and tips for it so I can share some of my tips with people. It would even be cool to collaborate in a group.

Cyber smart is really fun and is definitely  something I look forward to.

End of Term

<>End of term two<>

As you know this term has been very messy.. with Covid-19 outbreak and our holiday getting pushed further, our first couple of weeks was online learning, online learning was really fun and I really enjoyed it, I have made a blog post about my time in lockdown if you want to hear about it.

As soon as we got back to school we had tons on hand sanitiser, and our own desks we had to wipe down every block, the learning we did was around how our lockdown was. it feels like it's been short since it's the end already, it was a really fun term and things have changed a lot like routine  and where we sit, we still had the same was of learning but just face to face.. we had a check list and I think that a challenge for me was probably the work.. because their is a big difference with time. in lockdown I got to work to whenever time and I didn't have much breaks.. but in school some of the work is in a certain period so I don't have enough time to finish it quickly and don't get much done on my contracts.. I mainly focus on the certain tasks that are bigger. and  when I was working from home I worked at 10, till maybe 5 or if I really wanted to get something finished I would finish it at nighttime. but at school I start to get ready and out of the house at 8.00 and get home at 3.00 and with morning tea and lunch time between, so their is a big time difference. I have struggled quite with finishing everything.

I have learned a lot in lockdown and in school.. with lockdown I learnt strategies for area and perimeter. and with in school we have learned about Pi and algebra and I feel I have improved with my times and maths, and a fun activity we have been doing is our creative writing, I find it fun to try and write super descriptive pieces and sometimes even rhythm and explain exactly how you feel in an attempt to make the reader feel the same. with presentation I have done more drawings with polyline and developed more techniques.  I have learned a lot in this extended term.

I have done a lot of learning activities and here are some favourites from lock down

I am quiet happy with the work I have done in lock down and some things I have succeeded in this term are.. my Matariki slide- I worked really hard on that to try and draw all the characters and I was quite happy with it when it was finished (just that the fade in and our scenes are a bit messed up,)
The Popcorn I made with my friend India-

We had to make a topping of our choice and me and India chose to do caramel, me and my brother made some caramel at home which is literally just melted sugar, butter and cream but it took so long to melt the sugar and it was very sticky.)  I made the logo at home while watching a movie! then when the day was here.. India got a plastic bowl and and cooked the popcorn in the microwave in the staff room and we mixed the homemade caramel with the popcorn.. it was really yum! we were very proud on how this turned out!
Matariki picture with my friend Tiana! Tiana is a very creative and she is very artistic as well!
we had to draw in each segment on what the matariki starts represent.

My side <-- ||--> her side
Wati || Waipururangi || Tupunuku || and we both did Matariki. it was super fun and we brought some of our stuff to draw with form home, I brought some of my coloured pens, and she brought some very fancy pastel pens. (similar to copic markers.) it was so fun to draw with her and we had a lot of laughs and we had to swap seats a lot to rotate so we can draw.
something I also feel I have succeeded is with is some of my R.E activities.. we were learning about Kings,Prophets, and Judges. and we have been learning a lot about the holy spirit,
This was an R.E task that I did (I am mainly proud of the drawing.)
I had posted my Creative writing task on my blog if you would like to see it.
I am also quiet happy with my creative writing slide.. (but I haven't posted it.)
I am quiet happy with lots of learning I have done during this term and I hope I can do some good learning and succeed with next term.

I have a lot of highlights in this term and lots of them are in the learning pictures above. I really enjoyed doing some of the filming we did with cyber smart, those were really fun and have  A LOT of funny bloopers.  making popcorn, drawing, collaborating. all of that was my Favorited highlights this term so far and I hope I can have some new and similar highlights next term.

Some things I am looking forward too... is the creative writing I really hope it goes well as well, I heard that we might  also be illustrating our writing as well! I hope that next term can be a good term as well. I am happy about how this term has gone.. (not about the corona virus  out breaking .) and I hope you all have a great holiday!

..+*Matariki Activities!*+..

-Goal setting for Matariki!-

For the Maori New year, we have set goals surrounding all of our learning subjects,
We made a copy of a slide set by our teacher and filled in more detailed goals around Maths, literacy, R.E, social, and extra. so we followed a strategy  called "S.M.A.R,.T'' which you will see on one of the example pages.  We shared all of our goal in a group when we had a big matariki breakfast, with bacon, egg, toast and spaghetti and a couple of juices.

-Matariki research Planting-

We also did another group activity! we did planting, and had to make a D.L.O (Digital, Learning, Object.) So our group made a slide and researched about two plant and food related Maori gods. ..+*Haumiatiketike*+.. and ,,>>Rongo-Ma-Tane<<. we searched about them and wrote down our facts as we got called up to pick a small plant to take care of.. I chose spring onion because I really like spring onion and enjoy eating raw, I can't wait for it to grow up big enough to harvest and eat.
here's our slide
