..+*>Camp 🏕<*+..

..1.. *highlight* The first night of camp- the thunder & lightning storm... I woke up in my tent with Priyanci and Tiana my friends (We all shared a tent) We probably just woke up before midnight.. and then we hear a BANG!!!!!!! thunder thumbed in the clouds It felt like we were in the middle of it... at first it was like ''OK just some thunder and rain heh!" but then it got REALLY LOUD... Like so loud and frighting and none stop.. minute after minute and... it made the tent glow.. it went light to lighter then so blinding, we had to close are eyes. imagine if these symbols we're the light,  . : ! the we had to close are eyes... none stop the thunder roared, light to lighter to blinding then boom...light to lighter to blinding then boom light to lighter to blinding then boom.. and then I saw lightning struck.. it had red lines in the middle of the lightning and it seemed just in front of our tent.. honestly, I thought it would struck are tent. It didn't stop.. light to lighter to blinding then boom the rain pored but no wind.. then I was trying to get to sleep to hope it was over because I thought I was going to die from lightning 😂 anyways I lay on my side facing the tent wall, I tried to tone out the massive booms that sounded like bombs that flew over our tent and the light.. to blinding, I just kept my eyes closed.. and then... I SAW LIGHTING RIGHT NEXT TO OUR TENT ON MY SIDE  .... IT HIT THE GROUND AND I FELT IT VIBRATE THE GROUND! it felt like an earth quake.... then my toe went numb for a minute, I cant get over how it felt.. like and earth quake. ANYWAYS... ( 10 traumatizing minutes later)
''oh it stopped.. WELL TIME FOR BREAKFAST!" everyone went of of the tent scared from the storm.. we all went out to get breakfast.. eating, listening to the song "thunder" by imagine dragons!

..2.. *highlight* the last night of camp was crazy.. the teachers gave us chocolate and ice cream for a treat from the amazing race ( I'll tell you about that later) and as soon as we ate that... we went flying! we all started spinning at running around and yelling and singing to the songs that they played! we ended up staying up till 10'o clock, some of us played tiggy in the dark. it was so loud!

..3.. *highlight* the amazing race! the teachers\parents had made this amazing race! but with survivor style! so we got put into grounds and we had to go to stations.. like knot tieing, and other survival skills, we we're always on the run.. our team had one more thing to do! BUT every teams last activity was the same! so we had to wait in line... but it was still real fun!
..4.. now this is just going to be a heap of stories from camp! we went to go swimming, we played tag, we went up to the dunes and so much more it was a really fun camp!

..:*+⸖𐰬༼|:|~ SURFING ~|:|༽𐰬⸖+*:..

Not only we went surfing.. we did so much other things too! LIKE A SCHOOL FIELD TRIP! so we went surfing out at Ahipara down the street were that little old park is and there is a mini track and... a big river you have to cross to get to the beach.. literally there was no other way for us. in the river you couldn't see anything.. kind of like coca cola lake, the river\lake was up to our thighs so it was OK! anyways we went and put our wet suits on and the surfing instructors Kim, Mack and jack split us into groups, they told us to move to the side and all of the girls went to one side and about 3 boys we're in there with the girls. and all the rest of the boys went in one group. we crossed the river and the group with 3 boys and all of the girls.. the group I was in went first we got taught how to use the surf board and the do's and don'ts. The instructors kept on making us laugh with all the hilarious jokes! the group I was in got split into groups to surf with. Now I was TERRIFIED OF THE MASSIVE WAVES, I was able to go to Mataibay and dive under HUGE WAVES but that was Mataibay THIS IS AHIPARA/NINTEY MILE BEACH!  but the instructors helped me.. I was still scared though.. I did catch a few waves... but its hard to swim with your back constantly bending down with a heavy board that can knock you out. but the surf instructors helped, and no one got hurt when it was time for us to rotate and us to go back while the boys go do there lesson, we got to have lunch and relax in the river! (or lake). I have never liked evil sea creatures like eels  and crabs and since this river/lake was not clear and like coca cola lake you had to take a risk. one of the boys in our group came out of the lake with a massive cut.. everyone thought it was a stingray and stingrays are very dangerous.. the're sharp tails stab you and then you have to get the tail out of you leg or wherever they stab you, glorious but DEADLY. but the cut on his foot was not from a stingray.. I bet it was from shard coral.. because I think I've steeped on those sharp coral before.. and IT WAS CORAL! we PICKED IT UP  and it was! ''false alarm guys!"  so we went in the water and it was like one of the best days of my life! since it was up to our thighs you couldn't really doggy pattle without your hand touching the ground.. we played tiggy and I kept on running then jumping on the water one stop to get away, then you know when you glide? and your legs go straight? well it made it even funner because I'd dive then quickly crouch my legs in! then it was time to leave.. we all but our gear together and crossed the river. We went and said "THANK YOU!" and went to the bus.. but we stopped at a dairy and one of the people in our group, there parents were to kind to let us all have ice cream! and it was so much like a happy ending EVEN THE BUS DRIVER GOT SOME ICE CREAM! it was truly a happy ending! but it was to good to be true... I got sunburn everywhere 

KNOT'S

We have been learning a lot about safety and survival, because we are going to camp soon!! And one of the things we have been going is knots! Sorry the link in it doesn't work.. so I had to write it here

We learned a lot about knot's and we are even reading a book called "Cuz" and it's about these two cousins that got lost and they are finding their way back. I loved doing this poster because I like making things colorful and decorated, and I like the idea of little snippets of information. 

GOOGLE DOCS NINJA!

• Today we did the...''google docs ninja challenge'' and it was really fun! I love how we could try out a whole lot of cool new things on google docs that we never knew about! We all helped each other on those really hard bits! We got this idea from Matawai school because they have blogs and they posted about it too! The belts are...

I enjoyed it a lot because we're doing hyper links coloring words with fonts and using bullet points and  keys we never knew we could do!

On Wednesday (on Halloween)  We did athletics.. and I'm not an athlete..but I still enjoyed it, one thing I was really proud of was high jump! That was real fun! I never knew that I could last in high jump.  Long jump was pretty good too, but I am terrible at sprints 😂. We got given a choice between doing the 200 hundred meter run or not, I was going to not do it but... I decided to give it a go.   The things we did in athletics were.. shot put, sprints, high jump, long jump, and the 200 meter run, also the relays (which i didn't do). We were all quiet tired after. Anyways athletics was fun and enjoyable.

🌄🌅 Kaitaia! 🌌

Kaitaia may be a small town, but it has lot´s of fun things to do! one thing that´s special  is the beaches. we have nice calm beautiful beaches! One of my favorite places in Kaitaia, are Matai Bay, Rangiputa, Why are those my favorites?? Well I´ll tell you. I love Matai Bay because It has these little tracks you can go through! and they have the most Beautiful scenery's there is this one track that goes to both bays and there are little other path ways to get in! Matai Bay is kinda shaped as a B laying down (well to me it is) and the track goes all the way down the B and up again till it leads to this patch of short grass right up the top and you can have a picnic there! And Rangiputa is just gorgeous!! The forests there are breath taking! and I love the smell of Pine trees! 😂 I also love the lakes! they are so fun too swim in!

We did a really cool thing today.....ANIMATIONS and not just any animations... ones that show you how to make a good blog comment! how we made it was we went on slides and then click on a button that says ´´insert´´ then click image and type in ´´png backgrounds´´ then you choose a background! and of course do that again but you search the character you want and make sure you write in png! then once you have your character you can click ´´slides´´ and it will say duplicate slide  and then move your character a little then repeat but each time you move your character a little. you also can add in speech bubbles! by clicking SHAPES. here´s the animation i made!

✳️hmm have you ever done ice skating? do you think it'll be like your fantasy? ✳️ Well... IT CAN! we did ice skating at the back of Te Ahu center, and we were  SO EXITED! so when we went in we had to  take of our shoes but not our socks we need them. we laid   our jackets down by our shoes and lined up.he said a few rules the one rule that scared me was that when we fall we have to get back up as fast as we can or you could get cut by the skates.´´boys come´´ said the man who was instructing the ice skating. the boys got there helmets on and ice skating shoes then us girls done the same. it´s kinda hard to put skates on because there so big and sturdy! once I put my sweaty hot stuffy gloves on we went on the ice ( it was fake ice but still very slippery and soled) I was like wooooooooah! I first held on to the wall as the man showed us how to skate ´´bend your knees slightly then.. left! right!´´ I let go and expected myself to just glide but it wasn't that easy.. instead i just took baby steeps as my ankles slipped sideways. I was having so much fun! then.. I SLIPPED RIGHT ON MY BUTT!!  OOF I hit the hard soled artificial ice but seriously it hurts so bad! holding in my pain I stood up. it was still very sore. my friends we´re gliding like professionals, you´d think it was cold but it was the exact opposite. then some where in the middle of the session I fell again on my butt 😆

👌why the far north is the best place to live!❤

~do you know any place that you can go to the beach in any cost? or with perfect weather? and go   on adventures? well i know! the far north of New Zealand! up here it is safe sunny and has lots of out door activities~                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         now if you like swimming or going to beaches then listen up cause the far north has A LOT OF BEACHES! Matai  bay is a great beach it has rock pools,soft sand,tracks to go hiking and you can CAMP there too!  Cape Reinga? the tip top of New Zealand?  you can take pictures near the LIGHTHOUSE! and learn some history too! ninety mile beach the home of that GIANT SAND DUNE and up here you can hike along these beaches too!

you can never stop exploring places when you are up at the far north! you can ride down sand dunes and hike up and down underneath the calming beautiful tree's and its pretty easy to go out and know that it'll be sunny. Waitangi treaty grounds a special place of New Zealand and it's up in the far north! you can also see Tane Mahuta  known as the god of the forest and you can visit the beautiful haruru falls . and lots more...

and that's why in my opinion the far north NZ is the best! hiking,beaches everlasting adventures! and plus people up here are always willing to help you out. so why not visit?

Today we learned about New Zealand history.  We learned about the Treaty of Waitangi and who signed  it and we learned  about the first world war and how it effected the people at home.We also learned about the England missionary  and how Maori was an oral language. We learnt about Nancy  Wake  who was a New Zealander who fought against Hitler in World War 2. She was a agent too. CLAY ART!!!!

 Today we are learning how to make clay art! :D based  on items that are native to New Zealand. so we drew a sketch of the NZ item we wanted to make. I did a tiki . then our teacher brought dry air clay and then we started....first I took little bits and shaped them into the parts of the face (eyes,mouth, and other face parts) then I made arms then started shaping the body.then i put the head on very tight and secure. smooth the sides out to and make sure that it is not to thin.  then I put the face parts on securely. smooth the face a little but not to much that it doesn't stick out. and wait for it to dry...
